Dr. Nir Atzmon explaining his researchDr. Nir Atzmon, of the Israeli Agricultural Research Organization, here explains his mycorrhizal research to Rachel Hedges (left) and Nancy Milanesio (right). For this project, Dr. Atzmon is studying the effect of ectomycorrhiza on forest tree resistance to drought conditions, with the aim of improving seedling quality for better performance in arid lands. The IALC Peace Fellowship Program offers ample opportunities for students to work individually with researchers.
