Current Endowments

Margery and Gene Bayless (Phoenix)
In 1983, Marge and Gene Bayless created the first endowment with the Foundation. The Bayless family has given more than 20 years of service to youth in Arizona.

Emogene and George Gehrke Memorial (New Mexico)
George was an active 4-H supporter until his passing at the age of 94. Because of his desire to continue supporting 4-H, he established this endowment (with the help of his daughter Gerry Eberline, the former Executive Director of the Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation).

Paula and Cabot Sedgwick (Nogales)
Cabot served many years as a 4-H Trustee and established this fund in 1983 to show his support for education provided through 4-H.

Ginny Bruce Memorial
Virginia "Ginny" Bruce, had raised Guide Dog puppies prior to becoming the 4-H Youth Development Agent in Coconino County in 1990. In 1992 her friends established this fund in living legacy to her memory to provide ongoing support for the State Dog Show.

Drusilla and William Macbeth (New Mexico)
This fund was established by the Macbeths in 1984. Bill is a Charter Member of the Foundation and served many years as a Trustee.

Betty Accomazzo Memorial (Phoenix)
Jimmy Accomazzo established this endowment (in memory of his mother) to provide annual support for educational scholarships to 4-H members.

Edna and Otto Neely Memorial (Gilbert)
The Neely's established this fund in 1984 to provide continuing support for the growing 4-H program.

Jimmy Accomazzo Memorial (Phoenix)
Established in August 1993 by the many friends and family of Jimmy Accomazzo to support educational scholarships for 4-H members pursuing higher education.

Ruth M. Scofield Memorial (Tucson)
Established 1984 by E. H. Scofield, Dee Ann and James Sakrison in memory of Ruth. Income from this fund is used to provide Recognition Awards for youth competing in 4-H activities at the state levels.

B.J. and Betty Wells (Chino Valley)
In the early 1970's, Betty and Billy Wells donated a piece of land in Chino Valley which was sold in 1994 and established the Wells Endowment. Annual income is used in support of the Arizona 4-H Horse Program.

Kathleen and Fred Fritz Memorial (Clifton)
Established in 1983 to honor Fred "Cowboy Amigo" Fritz for his long time service as a Foundation Trustee and friend to everyone.

Edmund McGibbon Family Memorial
Representive William McGibbon and his wife, Nancy, established this fund in memory of Bill's father Edmund. Bill and Nancy wanted to establish this fund as a tangible expression of their desire to advance the work of 4-H Youth Development in Arizona.

Irene/Chase Traweek Memorial (Springerville)
Irene established this endowment in memory of her husband because of their appreciation for the many benefits of 4-H for youth in their area.

Gene Bayless Memorial Shooting Education
Gene Bayless was an Arizona 4-H leader for many years and his expertise in Shooting Education/Natural Resources was unparalleled. Through this endowment, funding is annually available to support 4-H Shooting Education Leader Training and Certification and other Natural Resource Projects.

Leatha/Howard Morrison Memorial (Gilbert)
Established by Letha Morrison to provide support in the area of greatest need.

Mark Accomazzo Memorial (Phoenix)
Mark was a life-long supporter of 4-H, and this memorial was established by his family and friends to recognize his support in perpetuity. Funds from the endowment will support educational scholarships for majors in agriculture or agricultural related fields of study.

Virginia Ott Kieckhefer Memorial (Prescott)
Established by Robert H. Kieckhefer in memory of his wife. Virginia was a long time resident of Prescott and Phoenix and was active in civic and philanthropic affairs throughout Arizona.

Gerry and Rex Eberline Memorial (Green Valley)
Established by family and friends after Rex¹s passing in March of 1998, this endowment recognizes his long- time support of 4-H and Gerry¹s incredible commitment to the Foundation, first as Executive Director for almost 20 years, and then as a dedicated volunteer. Funds from the endowment will support ongoing 4-H programs.

Winifred and Kenneth H. Anderson (Sun City)
Established to honor Ken for more than 56 years of involvement in 4-H Youth Development on state and national levels. Ken served as Trustee, Treasurer and Planned Gifts Committee member of the 4-H Foundation.

Sharon O’Donnell Franklin Memorial
Sharon was a lifelong supporter of 4-H, and this memorial was established by her family and friends to recognize and honor her life, her love of horses and her dedication to leadership development. Earnings from this fund will be used to support leadership and horse programs in Maricopa County 4-H, benefitting young people for years to come.

Anita and Everett Brown (Tempe)
Established to honor Everett Brown, past president of the Foundation, for his contributions to Arizona 4-H. Everett served as a member of the Foundation Board for twelve years.

Youth-Adult 4-H Leadership Fund
The state of Arizona continues to benefit from hosting the 1997 Western Regional Leaders Forum. Excess profit was made from our year as host, and the money has been reinvested in continuing with the very idea of leadership development which originally brought the money into existence. Funds from the endowment will provide perpetual support for youth-adult 4-H teams to attend trainings related to leadership development.

Charlotte and B.P. Cardon (Tucson)
Established to honor Bartley P. Cardon for his outstanding service and significant leadership to 4-H. Dr. Cardon was instrumental in incorporating the Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation. He first served as Trustee in 1970, serving two terms as President, and was later named the Foundation's first Trustee Emeritus.

Becker-Baguley Endowment
This endowment was established in the fall of 1998 by Billie Jane Baguley. A retired teacher Billie Jane knows the value of education, and wishes to assist 4-Hers in the continuation of their education. The Becker-Baguley Fund will provide scholarships to students who are furthering their education in the fields of nutritional science, family studies or retailing & consumer studies.

June and Marvin Morrison (Gilbert)
Established to honor the Morrison's for their outstanding generosity to Arizona 4-H. Marvin first served as a volunteer leader in 1942 and has served as a Trustee since 1978 with two terms as Foundation President.

Pinal County 4-H Scholarship Fund (Pinal County)
Established in 1999 by the initiative of the Pinal County Scholarship Committee and Leadership Council, this fund will support county 4-H youth in their pursuit of higher education.

Carol and S. Earl Pugh, Jr. (Phoenix)
Established in 1986 in honor of S. Earl Pugh, Jr. who has given years of service to the Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation. Earl wrote the articles of incorporation and by-laws for the Foundation and continues to serve as a volunteer counsel.

Annette Firth Memorial
Established by friends and family after Annette’’s passing in May of 1999, this endowment recognizes her long time support of 4-H and commitment to the youth she served as Development Agent for fourteen years in Cochise County. Funds from her endowment will provide scholarships for youth attending the annual 4-H JOLT Camp.

Lucy Alice and Stuart Houston (Flagstaff)
Established by Stuart Houston in memory of his late wife. Stuart has provided leadership to Coconino County 4-H for more than 40 years.

Conner Byestewa, Jr. Memorial (Yuma & La Paz Counties)
Established by family and friends of Conner, a longtime 4-H friend and supporter in Yuma and La Paz Counties who was active with Junior Livestock programs and county fairs throughout his life. Named as the Outstanding Leader and recognized with the 4-H Alumni of the Year Award in both counties, this fund will benefit 4-H programs in the places he loved for years to come.

Emil Rovey Family (Glendale)
Established with charitable contributions from the Rovey family in 1986 to honor many years of 4-H involvement, including Emil's position as the first State 4-H Program Director at the University of Arizona.

Eugenia Scott Hawthorne and Ralph Rogers Hawthorne 4-H Scholarship (Green Valley)
An Arizona native, Genie established this scholarship fund, with her husband Ralph, to benefit 4-H members continuing their educational career in the study of science and art.

Vicki and Don Charles (Phoenix)
Established through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Charles, this endowment provides funds for advancing the education of Arizona 4-H members.

Ralph Hall Memorial 4-H Scholarship (Tucson)
Established by friends of Ralph Hall after his passing in 2001, this scholarship endowment provides support for students from Pima County who are pursuing majors offered in the University of Arizona College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, or who are pursuing a course of study that focuses on rural health issues.

Carolyn and J. Rukin Jelks, Jr. (Elgin)
Established through the generosity of Carolyn and Rukin Jelks, Jr. in recognition of their concern for strong leadership in the field of agriculture.

Arizona AE4-HA
Created by the Arizona Association of Extension 4-H Agents in 1999, this endowment will support the professional development and work of Arizona’s 4-H Agents

Ethel and Kemper Marley (Phoenix)
This fund was established by the Marley's in 1987 and is the largest single gift to the Foundation endowment to date. Interest income provides support for ongoing 4-H programs.

Don Landeen Memorial Scholarship
Established by his wife, this fund will perpetually support the Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation Scholarship program.

Haldiman Family (Tucson)
Established through a bequest from John Haldiman, income from this fund supports the area of greatest need.

Virginia May Memorial (Tucson)
Virginia May established this fund in support of 4-H’s dog project and guide dog program with a bequest through her estate plan.

Mary/Arthur Faul -Millstone Ranch (Coolidge)
Established through the generosity of Mary A. and Arthur "Jim" Faul, who have given many years of service to 4-H and Pinal County Cooperative Extension.

Bill & Judy Peterson Endowment
Established in 2005, this endowment will provide perpetual support for the 4-H International Exchange and Japanese Exchange Programs in Arizona.

Margaret and Cliff Clements (Phoenix)
Margaret established this fund to honor Cliff by providing support in the area of greatest need.

Everett Grondin Memorial (Tucson)
Everett and Cecilia Grondin were recognized as inaugural inductees into Arizona’s 4-H Hall of Fame in 2002, and at their induction their son, Everett Jr., announced the creation of this endowment fund in support of 4-H scholarships. Everett was a leader in the Pima County program for over 25 years, and his legacy of building youth leaders will live on through this memorial.

Carter E. Nelms Memorial (Globe)
Established by Marie Nelms and added to by family and friends in memory of Carter. Carter was a charter member of the Foundation Board. Income from this fund is used in support of ongoing 4-H Youth Development programs.

Bob Stump 4-H Citizenship (Phoenix)
Created in honor of Congressman Bob Stump during the 4-H Centennial (and the year of his retirement) in 2002, this fund will provide funds for 4-H’ers traveling to National 4-H Conference and other citizenship programs.

Mildred and Larkin Fitch (Tempe)
Established in 1989 by Mr. and Mrs. Fitch to provide educational grants to 4-H youth pursuing a higher education.

Friends of Jim Kolbe
Congressman Kolbe was Arizona’s inductee into the Innaugural class of the National 4-H Hall of Fame in 2002. This fund was established in his honor as a part of the 2003 Ponie del Pueblo gala with the Tucson Pima Arts Council, and supports 4-H Citizenship projects.

Dan A. Klingenberg (California)
Dan, a former 4-H'er and UA College of Agriculture graduate, established this fund to provide a lasting gift to 4-H.

Joshua Partridge Memorial (Coolidge)
Established 1989 by the Steves family in memory of Joshua Partridge, a Pinal County 4-H'er. The income from this fund was designated to expand and strengthen the 4-H Shooting Education Program.

Graham Wright Honorary

Yavapai County
Established in 1990 by an anonymous donor to benefit Yavapai County 4-H programs.

Sarah Harman Memorial (Tucson)
Sarah was the Assistant State 4-H Leader for over 20 years in Arizona, and provided for the establishment of this endowment fund by designating the 4-H Foundation the beneficiary of her life insurance policy upon her passing in 2003. She was inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fam that year, and this fund will help continue her legacy of support for 4-H’s leadership and camping programs.

June Gibbs Memorial (Tucson)
Ruth Lovik, long time friend of June Gibbs, established this fund to support educational grants in the area Family and Consumer Science. Until her retirement, June served as the Extension Foods-Nutrition Specialist in the School of Family and Consumer Resources.

JOLT Legacy for Leadership Endowment
After the evacuation of the 15th Annual JOLT Leadership Camp in the face of the Rodeo-Chediski Fire in 2002, youth from JOLT voted to pool their refunds to create this endowment in support of future JOLT programs. The first youth-created endowment fund in the 4-H Foundation, it has been added to by JOLT campers every year since its inception.

Farm Credit Services Southwest (Tempe)
Farm Credit Services Southwest established this endowment to provide merit based educational scholarships for 4-H members in Arizona.

Mohave County 4-H Leaders Council Investment Fund
Established by the Mohave County 4-H Leaders’ Council, this fund will function like an endowment and provide ongoing support for the 4-H program in Mohave County and offer the insurance that it can be used in its entirety for major 4-H programs in the future.

Elise and Harry Porterfield Memorial
The Porterfields of Harquahala Valley were supporters of both 4-H and the College of Agriculture. Through their relationship with the college, they were able to see the importance of the 4-H Program to young people in Arizona. The Porterfields established this fund to provide support for the continuing advancement of 4-H programs.

Judith & Richard Fleming (Casa Grande)
Created in 2004, this fund will provide scholarship support for Pinal County 4-H members in honor of 4-H alumni Richard and Judith Fleming.

Cecil and Alzora Miller (Litchfield Park)
Alzora and Cecil Miller established this fun in support of Arizona’s 4-H program, providing perpetual support to help young people make the best better.

Faul 4-H Ag-Ventures Endowment
Jim and Mary Faul created thsi endowment fund to support the 4-H Ag-Ventures program at the Maricopa Ag Center and to provide for the maintenance and operations of the Faul Ag-Ventures Village built at Big MAC with their financial support.

John Peter Bogle Memorial (Phoenix)
Jane Bogle established this endowment in memory of her husband, J. Peter Bogle, who served as a 4-H Trustee.

Chilson Memorial Camp Fund(Flagstaff)
Ernest Chilson established this fund in honor of his family to help insure the creation of a state 4-H camp and the support of Arizona 4-H’s camp program. Over the years it has provided support for the improvement of various camp properties and camperships for hundreds of 4-H youth.

Mary and Harold Arp (Casa Grande)
Established in 1986 by Mr. and Mrs. Arp, who owned and operated CV Growers in the Casa Grande/Maricopa area.

Pima County 4-H Leaders Memorial (Pima County)
Established in 2006 by Pima County 4-H leaders to provide a scholarship to Pima County 4-H'ers entering Post High-school education

Pima County Jr. Livestock Scholarship
Established in 2006 by Pima County Jr. Livestock Sales, Inc. This endowment will perpetually support the Pima County 4-H'ers by providing an annual scholarship to students seeking higher education.

Pima County 4-H Horse Scholarship
Established in 2005 by Pima County 4-H Horse project leaders, this endowment provides and annual scholarship to a Pima County 4-H'er seeking higher education.

Tessa Leigh Griggs Endowment
This endowment was established in 2006 and will be used to support Arizona 4-H in the area of greatest need.

Norton Foundation Endowment
Established in 2006 by the Norton Foundation, this endowment will annualy support Arizona 4-H leadership programs such as J.O.L.T., 4-H Military, and Character Education programs.

Leonard & Rita Cheatham Scholarship
Established in 2007, This scholarship will provide annual support to 4-H'ers from Maricopa and Santa Cruz Counties.
