Program on Economics, Law, and the Environment

 

 


Dr. Lueck’s research focuses on contracts and organization in agriculture and the economics of law and property rights to natural resources, with an emphasis on empirical studies. He is the recipient of the 1992 Best Article Award (for “Ownership and the Regulation of Wildlife”) from the Western Economics Association. In 1994–1995, he was a John M. Olin Faculty Fellow in Law and Economics at Yale Law School. He has also been a visiting scholar at Cornell University (2000) and was a visiting professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain (2001). He was Visiting Professor of Law at the University of Virginia School of Law from 2002–2003. He is the author (with Douglas W. Allen) of The Nature of the Farm (MIT Press 2003).
