Hardin: Rammed earth wall detailing

Rammed earth wall detailing This photograph shows architectural detailing applied to rammed earth walls as part a classroom facility construction project carried out by a 1997 Design/Build Studio at the University of Arizona School of Architecture. The horizontal chamferred reveals (or grooves) along the base and top of the walls indicate the change from rammed earth to concrete footings and bond beams. The beveling creates a dramatic surround for openings in the wall.
