Remains of a heat-retainer oven, with strings marking sections in preparation for excavation and charcoal sampling. The oven stones once lined a shallow fire pit used for roasting food. Subsequent erosion has removed the fine sediments, leaving the coarse heat-retainers slightly pedestalled above the modern landsurface.
