Southern Israel: Opuntia Cactus Research

In the background, hedges of Opuntia are visible. This research is being carried out in conjunction with IALC member institution Texas A&M - Kingsville (TAMUK). TAMUK researchers collected the original cactus specimens from the southwestern US and Mexico, and supplied clones of these specimens to their colleagues in Israel.
