Beaver Creek Watershed Tour

Side Trip F

From the junction of Roads 230 and 213, proceed left 2.7 miles on Road 213 to its junction with Road 239. Turn right on Road 239, and continue 0.4 miles to Stop 12 on Watershed 8. The pond to your left, known as Butch's Tank, was built to store water for livestock grazing the forest range. Wildlife also use the tank as a watering place, and large goldfish inhabit its waters. It is an excellent place to stop and rest. If you are driving a rugged vehicle and the road is dry, you may continue north for 0.9 miles on Road 239 to Stop 13. Here the regular strip-cuts of Watershed 9 are quite obvious.

Return to Forest Road 213. Turn right if you wish to visit Stoneman Lake or return to I-17; otherwise turn left and drive 2.7 miles to rejoin the main tour route.
