General comments about admission
Admissions to an undergraduate program is controlled by the general University Admissions Office. An entering new student or a transfer student does not have to declare a major to be admitted to the University. Various links are given below for detailed information.
The University's Graduate College also is the final authority for admissions to a graduate program, either a Master's program or a Ph.D, depending on the major. However, prospective graduate students still need to be accepted by a particular department for a graduate degree.
