Species: Alternaria arbusti Simmons

Conidia: (on PCA) mature conidia typically 25-40 x 9-17µm when ovoid and 38-56 x 10-16 µm when long ellipsoid, beakless, smooth, olive brown, 3-8 transepta, 1-2 oblique or transepta, chains of 3-6.
Conidiophore: (on PCA) 130 x 4-5 µm, simple and upright, olive-brown color, apical secondary conidiophores typical.
Additional characters: unlike A. gaisen: secondary conidiophores are multi-celled, condia and conidiophore septa are deeply pigmented, and secondary conidiophores are not ornamented.
