Freeze damage
Oleanders are subject to freeze damage, especially when temperatures are near freezing in the early spring. Plants in frost prone areas should be covered during these events. The tips of branches turn brown (photo 1), but plants are rarely killed back.
Prune away dead tissue after local frost dates. If bacterial gall has been observed, follow precautions under the Oleander gall description for pruning.
