Background and Interests
 
Barry M. Pryor received a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of California, Davis. He also has a Master's Degree in Plant Protection and Pest Management from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Here at the University of Arizona he teaches Introductory Plant Pathology (PLP 305). His research interests include biological and cultural control of disease in field, tree, and vegetable crops, phylogenetic analysis and species concepts in fungi, secondary fungal metabolites, and environmental mycology. Additional areas of research focus on biological and genetic aspects of Alternaria in relation to the development of allergenic rhinitis and asthma.
