ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH LABORATORY 

ERL is an established leader of environmental research and education in arid regions. The overall goal of ERL is to improve the health, welfare and living standards of communities in desert areas through the application of appropriate and sustainable technologies. ERL is located on 8.6 acres, adjacent to Tucson International Airport in Tucson, Arizona. ERL projects are relevant to arid regions throughout the world.

ERL has formal linkages to:

• The University of Arizona National Science Foundation Water and Environmental Technology (WET) Center
• The University of Arizona department of Soil, Water and Environmental Science.
• The University of Arizona department of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture
• The University of Arizona Center for Toxicology
• Tohono Chul Park--a model desert ecosystem botanical park.
