CALS Sabbatical Pay

Per UHAP, sabbatical leave is normally approved for either one or two semesters for academic year faculty; and either 6 or 12 months for fiscal year faculty. Sabbatical leave requests for any other time period will be considered on a case-by-case basis as an exception to policy.

Compensation during sabbatical leave will be prorated depending on the length of the leave as follows:

Fiscal Year Employees:

12 months	.60
11 months	.67
10 months	.73
9 months	.80
8 months	.87
7 months	.93
6 months	1.00

Academic Year Employees (effective 8/13/07):

9.20 months (200 work days)	.60
8.05 months (175 work days)	.70
6.90 months (150 work days)	.80
5.75 months (125 work days)	.90
4.60 months (100 work days)	1.00

If sabbatical leave compensation is supplemented by grants, the actual salary amount paid from budgeted funds may be slightly less than indicated above, due to the requirement of the University payroll system that funding splits be in whole percentages.
