Students must be currently enrolled to be hired in this classification.  The rate of pay varies from $5.15 to 16.50 per hour and should correspond to the duties assigned.  Students are limited to 30 hours per week while school is in session for all on campus jobs they may hold.  F-1 and J-1 Visa holders are limited to 20 hours per week while school is in session. See the student employment manual for more information at http://financialaid.arizona.edu/employm.htm.

Classified Staff Employment and Post Doc Positions:

The University must follow equal opportunity guidelines when filling classified staff positions, therefore, we must recruit for these jobs.  A position description must be drafted and posted for a minimum of 5 days.  Once a candidate is selected, before an offer is made, the department must conduct standard pre-employment screening which entails verification of academic credentials, relevant licenses or certifications, work history and job performance.  If the position is considered to be security sensitive, then a criminal background check must also be completed.  For more information on recruitment and pre-employment policies, see the HR website http://www.hr.arizona.edu/01_rec/recrhirindex.php.

To hire a classified staff, please fill out the following form and submit to the business office.

Staff Hiring Form: MSWord DOC

Affiliates, Associates and Volunteers:

For those persons not in a paid position, we must fill out the appropriate paperwork in order for them to have access to specified UA systems.
A visiting scholar will need to fill out the Associate form (insert form link here). Associates are eligible for email accounts, library privileges, bookstore and event ticket discounts, and access to purchase a UA CatCard, parking pass and a campus recreation membership during the period in which they are in an active status.

A volunteer will need to fill out the Volunteer form (MSWord DOC).

Volunteers do not have direct access to University services, but the department may obtain Net ID's and email accounts for them if needed.
For more information of Affiliates, Associates and Volunteers, see the HR guidelines at http://www.hr.arizona.edu/03_hire/volGuidelines.php.

*If a student has held a previous UA job before, they may not have to fill out the packet, but should check with the Business Office to ensure that they are still active in the payroll system.
