Pre-med Track: Admissions & Study Areas

The Department of Biosystems Engineering is looking for motivated students who are interested in medical careers.
Upon admission to the ABE department, students in the pre-med track will be advised by a committee of ABE pre-med members.
These advisors will assist pre-med students interested in entering the fields of medicine, dentistry, or biomedical engineering.
BE pre-med students will be exposed to broad engineering and science subjects, such as:
- Biological Systems Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
- Bio-Environmental Science
- Sensors and Control Systems
- Decision Support Systems
- Bioreactor Design
- Nanotechnology
- Water Resources and Water Quality
Thus, the pre-med track offers students a broad-based engineering
degree, should they decide not to pursue advanced medical study. These
students will become qualified engineers in the biological,
environmental, and water resources engineering fields.
