Pre-med Track: Advising
In
an effort to produce well-prepared individuals for medical school, BE
pre-med advisors will carefully monitor and advise pre-med students in
the following aspects:
- Exposure to broad science and engineering areas. Development of character, integrity, and leadership.
- Meetings with BE graduates who are currently in medical fields.
- Attaining a high cumulative grade point average (GPA), particularly in the sciences and mathematics.
- Preparation for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT).
- Interview preparation for the evaluation by the Pre-Health
Professions Committee, conducted during the second semester of the
junior year.
- Letters of recommendation from research supervisors and faculty.
- Clinical experience gained through working or volunteering at a hospital, clinic, or other health care facility.
- Community service and other extracurricular activities.
