Biography

Frank Santiago is the Coordinator of Recruitment Services for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences as well as for the Department of Agricultural Education at The University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. He is a 2002 graduate of The University of Arizona’s Department of Agricultural Education and taught secondary agricultural education in Gila Bend, AZ before returning to The University of Arizona to pursue a PhD in Higher Education with an emphasis in Student Services. Expected graduation date is May 2008. Frank’s passion is to provide opportunities for students of all ethnicities and backgrounds. He is a Co Advisor for the Jacobs-Cline Society, the student organization for the Department of Agricultural Education as well as Co Advisor for Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS). He has developed his passion through a series of volunteer activities such as participation in a service learning grant at Pueblo Gardens Middle School in Tucson, AZ in 2002 where he mentored at-risk high school students to develop a community/ teaching garden. As the son of former migrant field workers, Frank has overcome many obstacles to reach his current position.
