Incorporating UA Libraries, GIS and web design into proposals
The University and College have support units and services available that may enhance your proposals. The following information is provided by the UA Libraries, the Office of Arid Lands Studies, and the ART Lab.
- UA Libraries
- GIS, Decision Support, and Web Applications

- The Office of Arid Lands Studies is available to partner with CALS units who want to develop and incorporate geospatial applications, decision support tools and/or database-driven web sites into their grant project work, without having to develop their own teams to do so. Within OALS, the Arizona Remote Sensing Center facilitates the development and interpretation of geospatial (image and map) data sets and the creation of web resources for natural resource management and extension, and the Arid Lands Information Center provides strong capabilities in web site design, editing and content development, and development of interactive learning modules targeted at a broad range of different audiences. Both units support development of user-centric decision support tools and resources, from simple to complex, using industry-standard processes that facilitate moving beyond research prototypes to reliably operational systems that can be transferred to others or sustained through diverse business models. Contact for more information is Chuck Hutchinson.
- The Advanced Resource Technology (ART) Lab in the School of Natural Resources (See website for more information.) Contact for more infomration is Phil Guertin.
