The Alpha Pi
Chapter was colonized by the Alpha Xi Chapter of Arizona State
University (now inactive). On December 12, 1959 the Alpha Pi Chapter
received it's charter with 16 members. John Klingenberg was voted the
first noble ruler. Since then we have initiated almost 500
members into the Alpha Pi Chapter.
The current house location is 638 E. University Blvd. in Tucson,
Arizona. You might recognize the picture of the house
from the movie "Revenge of the Nerds". The house was used in
the movie as the 'jock house,' Alpha Beta.
The chapter house has twelve rooms with room
for up to 24 men to live in-house, and also includes an apartment for a
house mother. A cook provides lunch and dinner, Monday through
Thursday. High-speed Internet is available in all rooms and common
areas, including wireless for mobile access.
If you come by and see our house, you will be pleased at what you see.
The house is old, but in good shape. Generous donations from alumni
and hard work by active members keep it running. One thing you want to
look for is the plow in our front yard by the walkway, a donation of
the Lee Jones family of Payson, Arizona.
