Skin Cancer Prevention Part 1 |
Please read this page in its entirety before proceeding
Introduction
The purpose of this training program is to provide the University of Arizona's Cooperative Agricultural Extension agents with practical skin cancer prevention training that they will be able to pass on to the agricultural community. The program that you will be using was designed to overcome the World Wide Web's major barrier to Internet based training. Since effective training requires the use of many images and illustrations, and Internet users must wait individually for each image to load, the wait time required for an effective training program is considerable. The Java program that will open when you press the button at the bottom of this page will allow you to view many images with relatively little waiting time, because it will be actively downloading all of the necessary images continually even as you are reading the first few pages. This makes use of all of your Internet connection's "bandwidth." The program will even tell you when all images are downloaded, so that you can disconnect if you are connected by modem.
Instructions
The training module is currently loading onto your computer. All of the images and files necessary will continue to load in the background as you read this page, and as you begin the program. When you press the button at the bottom of this page, a window will appear on your screen, and you will be prompted to maximize the window and enter the password. If you enter the correct password, the training module will begin to run. There will be a "notepad" available at the bottom of the screen, and any notes that you write in this area will be e-mailed to you immediately following the session. After the training is complete, you will be quizzed to determine your retention and understanding of the material, and your results will be e-mailed with your notes. The quiz results will be used to determine the effectiveness of the training, and will remain strictly confidential.
Additional Notes
This program utilizes the latest in Internet technology to provide the most interactive and enjoyable training experience possible. Your computer may run slowly at first, but we ask you to be patient, as it will speed up when as the training proceeds. There are a few guidelines that you should follow:
