About the Artist:
Mark Rossi was born in Denver, Colorado, on October 15, 1951, majored in Fine Arts at the University of Tulsa in 1971 and in printmaking at the University of Arizona in 1976. He has done extensive historical research at the McCord Foundation in Montreal, Canada, as well as the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and has lectured at the University of Arizona and the Tucson Art Center on Western Art bronzes, wildlife and history. Mark attributes his success to the positive influence of his father, Paul Rossi, a prominent Western artist. Working with his father in the studio and foundry has promoted his eye for detail and authenticity in everything he does. Animals, reptiles and the landscape have been the subjects of his work, along with the history of the people who have lived and worked with that nature.
