Liz Bracken comes home to the Race Track Industry Program in her new role as an Associate Coordinator. Her primary duties will be teaching the Animal Racing Laws and Enforcement, Organization and Administration of the Racing Department and Racing Organizational Structure and Financial Management Classes. She will also assist the faculty and staff with planning the Global Symposium on Racing and Gaming. Prior to joining the Race Track Industry program, Liz worked in the racing industry for 23 years-16 years with NYRA in Simulcasting and 7 years in various capacities as a Racing Official.

Liz joined NYRA in 1997 as Simulcast Coordinator, was promoted to Director of Simulcasting in 2002 and to Vice President of Simulcasting in 2008. Liz oversaw the NYRA export network of over 1000 sites in 33 countries. She was responsible for all export/import simulcast agreements and contract negotiations which represent more than $1.6 billion of off track wagers on NYRA races per year.

Liz coordinated national events such as the Breeders’ Cup at Belmont Park in 2001 and 2005 along with working on planning racings third jewel of the Triple Crown-the Belmont Stakes.

Liz served as a TRA alternate board member. She has been a speaker on Simulcasting at the Latin American Racing Conference in Uruguay, the University of Arizona Symposium on Racing and the TRA International Simulcast Conference. Liz has also been a guest lecturer on racing topics at the University of Arizona and St. John’s University.

Prior to joining NYRA, Liz worked as a racing official in various jurisdictions. She held the positions of Assistant Racing Secretary, Stakes Coordinator, and Placing Judge working at Rockingham Park, New Orleans Fair Grounds, Hialeah Park, Suffolk Downs and Tampa Bay Downs.
