His research activities emphasize interdisciplinary projects. Principal interests include the statistical design of research projects in applied biology, the advancement of statistical methodology in biological research, and development of statistical measures to evaluate condition of semi-arid rangelands. He is the author of a textbook on experiment design. Dr. Kuehl has served in several official capacities for the Biometric Society and was the Founding Editor of the Biometric Bulletin.
