Supporting Funds
Gifts to the following three funds allow the Department to
make immediate use of the donation.
Partnering Pathway Extension Fund
Your generous contribution to the Partnering Pathway Extension
Fund will permit extension specialists to better serve off-campus
clientele through a variety of activities. Virtually all in-state
travel is now financed by our extension specialists’ entrepreneurship
in garnering competitive grants. But grant dollars can only
be used for designated projects. Your donation will be available
for immediate use to support in-state travel and other extension
activities not funded on competitive grants. At year’s
end you will receive a detailed report on the activities and clientele
supported through your generosity.
Graduate
Enrichment Fund
Your generous contribution
to the Graduate Enrichment Fund will provide graduate students
the opportunity to participate in internships, field trips,
travel to conferences and professional meetings, as well as
to underwrite research projects which would otherwise not be
possible. Your
donation will be available for immediate use to support enrichment
activities. At year’s end you will receive a detailed
report on the activities and students supported through your
generosity.
Undergraduate Enrichment Fund
Your generous contribution to the Undergraduate Enrichment
fund will provide invaluable opportunities for undergraduates
to participate in internships, field trips, travel to conferences
and professional meetings, as well as to underwrite on-campus
educational events. Your donation will be available for immediate
use to support enrichment activities. At year’s end
you will receive a detailed report on the activities and
students supported through your generosity.
Endowments and Endowed Fellowships
and Scholarships
Donations to these funds are used to enlarge the principal and
generate more interest.
Eric Monke Memorial Fellowship
The Eric Monke Memorial Fellowship honors the memory of Professor
Eric Monke who succumbed in an untimely way to multiple schlerosis.
Eric was dedicated to inspiring generations of graduate students
to dedicate their professional lives to solving economic development
problems. Proceeds from this endowment support graduate
students studying economic development.
Jimmye and Helen Hillman Endowment
The Jimmye and Helen Hillman Endowment fosters international
exchange of scholars by supporting both department faculty travel
abroad and foreign visitors’ travel to Arizona. Among
other things, endowment funds have supported attendance at international
meetings and conferences as well as sabbatical leaves. Your
generous contribution to the Jimmye and Helen Hillman Endowment
will augment the proceeds used for stimulating international
scholarly exchange.
Henderson Endowment
Mary Henderson, a frequent visitor
to department seminars in the Hillman years, dedicated part of
her estate to supporting domestic undergraduate and graduate
students through scholarships. Your generous contribution
to the Henderson Endowment will help grow the proceeds for supporting
domestic students.
Cardon Endowment
As a former professor, respected businessman, and dean of the
College of Agriculture, Bartley P. Cardon improved the lives
of students, colleagues, business partners, and faculty throughout
Arizona. In honor of his legendary accomplishments, a group
of those whose lives he bettered contributed to this endowment,
which supports the Bartley P. Cardon Endowed Chair in the Department
of Agricultural and Resource Economics. Holders of the
Cardon Chair conduct world-class research, impart a passion for
agriculture through their teaching, and deliver important extension
results to clientele throughout Arizona. Your generous
contribution will allow the proceeds of the Cardon Chair to grow
in support of the Cardon Endowed Chair.
