Discover a Watershed - The Colorado Educators' Guide and Workshop

The Colorado River Watershed covers parts of seven states in the U.S. and two states in Mexico, but only Arizona is almost entirely within the watershed.  The history of Arizona really follows the water from the beginning of Roosevelt Dam in 1902 to the negotiation of the Colorado River Compact in 1922 up through the present.  It’s a story of innovation, enterprise and forward thinking.  Yet changes within these natural systems have caused unintended consequences affecting our riparian areas and beautiful water places. The workshop and lessons in this book take you on a journey through the story of the watershed in which we live.

The interactive lessons of this educator’s guide and workshop present creative, hands-on methods to teach about Colorado River Watershed

  • water users,
  • water management,

  • hydrology,
