committees in the World Aquaculture Society. The committee is charged with
promoting student membership and coordinating student activities in WAS.

Student Outreach Committee Charges
Puropose: To promote student membership and activities in WAS and WAS annual conferences and other WAS sponsored events, and to develop WAS Chapter outreach services to promote Chapter student membership and activities at Chapter sponsored Aquaculture Conferences.
Action items/Objectives (2001-2002):
1. Promote implementation of the WAS Comprehensive Student Policy
2. Enhance student membership
3. Continue / enhance placement
services
4. Organize student activities during
WAS Annual Conferences
5. Promote other student activities, as
appropriate, particularly via Chapters
6. Establish activities to interest and
assist our student members who live or work outside North America
7. Work w/ students to determine
strategies that will retain their loyalty as full members in due course
8. Cooperate w/ the Promotions and
Membership Committee and the Finance Committee to establish a dues structure
that will increase and maintain student membership
9. Collaborate with Electronic
Networking Committee to support and maintain the WAS Student Web Page
10. Develop and provide to WAS Chapters a WAS Chapter Outreach packet to assist WAS Chapters in promoting WAS Chapter student membership and implementing student activities and services at WAS Conferences and WAS/Chapter Co-Hosted conferences that take place in their respective region(s)
