Joe Woodley's Gallery

My pictures are all "digiscopes," I use a Nikon Coolpix 5000 mounted
on a Nikon 60mm scope. Here are four recent pictures (three bird pics and
one landscape). We lived in Scottsdale for many years and we were members
of the Arboretum during that time; we now live south of
Sierra
Vista and it is a three-hour drive to the Arboretum. The beautiful fall colors
and the rare birds on December 13 made the trip very worthwhile. We saw the
male Varied Thrush in the same spot reported by Richard Ditch on his Sunday
morning birdwalk. We also saw the Brown Thrasher in the same area. Further
up the trail, near the old washed-out bridge, we saw a male Broad-billed Hummingbird.

Boyce Thompson Arboretum appreciates avian photographers who have shared
their images for use on the website; if you have recent photos you'd like
to share, send an email to BTAinfo@ag.arizona.edu.
