Note: These instructions are for script development using
Mac OS 8.5 or later, to connect to the Ag server. It requires
Apple Remote Access and TCP/IP (part of the OS).

1) Open TCP/IP from the Control Panel.
a. In the Connect field, choose PPP.
b. From the Menu bar,
Click Edit, select User Mode, select Advanced, Click OK.
c. In the Configure Field, Select Manually
d. For the IP address enter: 150.135.40.40
e. In the Implicit Search Path: Starting Domain Name field
enter: arizona.edu
f. Leave the Ending Domain Name field blank.
g. In the Name Server Address field, enter: 128.196.11.233
(press return)
128.196.11.234
h. In the Additional Search Domains field, leave blank
i. Close TCP/IP and save changes when prompted.

2) Open Remote Access from the Control Panel.
a. From the Menu bar,
Click Edit, select User Mode, select Administration.
DO NOT SET A PASSWORD!!
b. Select Registered User.
c. Click OK.
d. In the Number field, enter 6183190.
If you have call waiting, it can be turned off; enter *70,6183190
to disable it.
e. Click Options.
f. On Connection tab make sure the following are selected:
· Flash icon in menu
bar while connected.
· Disconnect if idle
for _60__ minutes.
g. On Protocol tab make sure the following are selected:
· Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications.
· Allow error correction
and compression in modem.
· Use TCP header compression.
· Connect to a command-line
host.

3) Do a manual Log on:
a. Select Use Terminal Window, Click OK
b. Now click on Connect.
Your modem will establish a connection with the UA Modems.
A login window will appear.
1. At the prompt, type: telnet ag.arizona.edu (press return)
2. At the login prompt type your EMAIL login name only (press
return)
3. At the password prompt, type your EMAIL password (press
return)
4. At the home/dept/username> prompt,
type: slirp -P (press return)
c. Click on settings, and select Prompt to Save Connect Script.
Click OK. Click Continue.

4) Save the script:
a. When prompted, save the connect script as ag.script (or
anything that works for you). Make note of where you are saving
the file (what folder)(I suggest saving to the Preferences
Folder.) Click Save. Now you should be connected, and Remote
Access will display a connection status and baud rate.
b. Now disconnect.
c. Click back on Options, and Click Protocol tab.
d. Switch from Use Terminal Window to Use Connect Script.
e. Select Import Script: locate your ag.script and open it
- this imports it for use.
f. Click OK.
g. Select Edit on the Menu Bar and Select User Mode and select
Basic. Click OK.
h. Click Connect to try out your new connection.
i. Then close the Remote Access window, and open your email
or browser. If they work you are connected.

5) Troubleshooting.
If you cannot connect, repeat the steps 3a thru 4b.

6) Edit Script
Once you have established a viable script, you must make one
additional change to the script itself.
a. Locate and open the script - it will open as a text document.
b. Near the top of the script is a command string that looks
something like this below:
@LABEL 10
MATCHCLR
MATCHSTR 1 11 "UACATS-"
MATCHREAD 300
NOTE "Connect script couldn't match \34UACATS-\34" 3
JUMP 99
!
Remove this paragraph.
c. In the @LABEL 11 section, replace PAUSE 1 with PAUSE 3.
d. Save the script.
e. Go back into Remote Access and repeat 4c -f.
Now you have internet access via Slirp on the Ag server.
