| Engineering at the University of Arizona has a
long and rich history, spanning more than a century - from the end of
Frontier days and the Apache Wars to today's high-tech era. Through the
years the College has educated thousands of engineering leaders and
enriched the economies of Arizona and the nation, while equally enriching
the fund of scientific knowledge on which modern society is
built. The Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) is affiliated with both the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Engineering and offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Engineering. Major areas of emphasis merge the physical with the biological sciences and include two main focus areas of Water Resource Engineering and Biosystems/Biological Engineering The emphasis on biology and engineering serves students who wish to obtain industrial positions, continue to graduate school in engineering or biological sciences, or for medical school.
