Jenn Nelkin, masters graduate student, 'hosted' the event, and introduced the two teachers, Dr. Pat Rorabaugh and Dr. Gene Giacomelli. Dr. Rorabaugh presented a lecture on tomato crop management of mature plants in harvest as a lab for the CalPoly students. Dr. Giacomelli presented a short introduction to the greenhouse environmental control and fertigation system. An interactive discussion and question/answer session with the students followed. Glen Gigstad recorded the event and operated the 2-camera system. Dave Bogner and Ed Carpenter made the live web connection. Kimberly Craft, UA/KUAT provided her expertise as producer. A 'stage' was assembled adjacent to the tomato plants located within the middle of the greenhouse and consisted of a table of hardware items in the foreground, and boxes of harvested fruit stacked in the background.
