| Multimedia Instrument for Worldwide Greenhouse
Education (WGE) Outreach Activities for the Tucson Community, State of Arizona, and the World Dr. Buddy Tignor, University of Vermont, Dr. Sandra Wilson, University of Florida, Dr. Peg McMahon, Ohio State University, Dr. Chieri Kubota and Dr. Gene Giacomelli, University of Arizona A USDA Higher Education Challenge Grant has supported the development of an instrument that consists of a WebCT repository of greenhouse educational materials, five new learning-centered interactive modules, and compilation CD. This collection will address important greenhouse topics including energy conservation, environmental safety, food produce safety, labor efficiency, and manipulation of plant responses in controlled environments. Additionally, the Co-PIs are from four distinct production regions allowing topics to be addressed in a manner covering the scope of firms nationwide from the part-time family run greenhouse to the largest corporate owned ranges. Graduate Students accessing these materials will have a better understanding of greenhouse science and local, regional, national, and international competition.
