CropKing Hydroponic Growers Conference
Outreach Activities for the Tucson Community, State of Arizona, and the World


CropKing Hydroponic Growers Conference held in Tucson each November, included a 2-hour tour to The Controlled Environment Agriculture Center facilities, The University of Arizona. Typically 160+ participants visit six tour stations where faculty and graduate students explain the on-going research projects.

The six tour stations have included: 1. hydroponic tomato teaching greenhouse (
Dr. Patricia Rorabaugh), 2. hydroponic pepper production (Dr. Merle Jensen), 3. web-based environmental monitoring and control (Dr. Gene Giacomelli), 4. retractable roof greenhouse for niche crops (Dr. Ursula Schuch), 5. Tomato physiology studies (Dr. Chieri Kubota) 6.  aeroponic production systems (Dr. Teena Hayden, Native American Botanics, Inc).
