Natural Ventilation for Mexican Greenhouses:  Empirical Modeling Using Tracer Gases Technique
Pedro Romero, MS Student, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering

A component of the US-Mexico TIES program for international collaboration and research program between UA and Chapingo University includes exchange of faculty and support of graduate students.  Dr Irineo Lopez is the advisor from Chapingo, and he has mentored natural ventilation studies during the summer 2004 with Pedro Romero.  Tracer gas techniques were used to obtain empirical models in order to relate ventilation rates –air volume that is being exchanged in a period- with respect to measurable variables, such as air temperature, wind speed, wind direction, solar radiation, among others.

Cooperators:  Dr. Irineo Lopez Cruz, Chapingo University, Dr. Chris Choi, ABE, and Dr. Gene Giacomelli
