Exam: (Monday, December 12th) 20%

Assignments 20%
Make-up Exams:
There
will be no make-up exams. When a student has a legitimate reason
(documented emergency or a university related official excuse) for
missing an exam, the student will have the missed exam omitted entirely
from the calculation of their grade; the grade will then depend fully
on the remaining assessed material. Students who miss an exam
without a verifiable, legitimate excuse will receive a zero for that
exam.
Assignments:
All
homework assignments will be due one week from the date assigned. No
late assignments will be accepted. The lowest homework grade
will be dropped for each student when calculating their final homework
mark. Approximately five homework assignments will be given throughout
the semester. Several extra credit opportunities will be given
as optional in-class assignments.
Class Attendance:
Class
attendance is expected and highly encouraged. Homework assignments
will be handed out during class. It is to your benefit to attend
class on a regular basis. According to University policy excessive
or extended absence from class is sufficient reason for students to
be administratively dropped. For those course in which enrollment
is limited, missing the first class session may be interpreted as excessive
absence. Please see http://catalog.arizona.edu/2005-06/policies/classatten.htm.
Academic Integrity:
Students are encouraged to share intellectual views and discuss freely
the principles and applications of the course materials. However,
graded course material must be executed independently, except when
noted by the instructor This course operates under the UA
academic code as described at http://dos.web.arizona.edu/uapolicies/.
Special Needs:
Students needing special accommodations or special services should
contact the Disability Resource Center (http://drc.arizona.edu/)
and/or the SALT center (http://www.salt.arizona.edu/). Students
with disabilities who require reasonable accommodations to fully
participate in course activities or meet course requirements must
register with the Disability Resource Center (DRC). If you
quality for services through DRC, bring your letter of accommodations
to me as soon as possible.
Incomplete

at http://catalog.arizona.edu/2006-07/policies/grade.htm.
