This course will include half-day field trips to sites in southeastern Arizona on Monday afternoons during regularly scheduled class hours. On these trips, we will observe management practices and philosophies on federal land. Specifically, we will examine problems that confront vegetation managers, observe technologies used to achieve specific goals on rangeland and forest sites, and increase our exposure to the diversity of vegetation types and management issues in this region. Attendance is strongly recommended on field trips, and information from field trips will appear on exams.

The length of each field trip will depend to a certain extent on student interest and enthusiasm. However, we intend to return to Tucson by 6:00 p.m.

You are strongly encouraged to wear appropriate shoes and clothing. Field trips will be conducted on steep, rocky, shrub-covered slopes: long pants and good boots are strongly recommended.

Here is today's weather.
