Monitoring Stream Flow in the San Pedro River

In conjunction with The Nature Conservancy, Master Watershed Stewards monitored live stream flow in the San Pedro River during June of 2003. This is part of ongoing stream measurements for the river. Volunteers walked different reaches of the river, using GPS technology to mark flows.

Establishing a Local Weather Station

A Master Watershed Steward assisted UA researchers in constructing a weather station in a remote location. The research is intended to help scientists understand the effects of climate on rangeland plant communities and interactions with differing soil types and their ability to hold moisture.
