ohn W. and Ruth Crist Dyer

John W. and Ruth Crist Dyer (UA `40) have established the John W. and Ruth Crist Dyer Observation Room to support the teaching, research and outreach of professors, researchers, and students in the area of children, youth and families. This room will be located in the Children and Family Research Laboratory within the Institute for Children, Youth and Families. Both John and Ruth strongly believe that strengthening families will strengthen society, and their legacy room will help future generations work toward that goal. Upon graduating from the UA, Ruth C. Dyer worked as an assistant research chemist for Sherman Williams in their chemical products lab during World War II. John W. Dyer, B.S. from Northwestern University , has been a successful business man, a Spanish language teacher who also became head of the language department.
