Edward (Ed or Eddie) was born in Tucson , Arizona , a fifth generation Tucsonan. In his younger years he loved to rodeo, worked on ranches in the Tucson area, and in veterinary medicine. He served in the Navy, and attended the University of Arizona and obtained two degrees. He received a B.S. in Agricultural majoring in Chemistry and Soils on May 29, 1963 and then went on to get his B.S. degree in Pharmacy in September 1, 1965. He enjoyed his career in retail pharmacy and at the same time owned a small business. He was president of the local pharmaceutical association and was in numerous other organizations.

Elizabeth (Beth) was born in Cleveland , Ohio and received her BS at Miami University in Oxford , Ohio on February 4, 1962. She received her Masters of Science with a major in Home Economics Education at the University of Arizona on September 1, 1971. She went on to get her Dietetic Registration and worked clinical dietetics, and as well as Director of Dietary Services at Kino Community Hospital until her retirement. She has been an active part of the FCS Alumni Council since 1981 and the local group of Tucson Home and Community Chapter of Arizona Association of FCS since 1962. She represented the FCS School for 6 years on the University of Arizona National Board . She has served and still does serve as a volunteer in many social and professional organizations.

Edward and Beth had two daughters, Cheryl and Michelle, both of whom are alumni of the University of Arizona .
