Pima County Joint Technological Education District 11 Position Description Position Title: Agriscience Teacher Term of Employment: Full time, 12 months Salary Range: Starting placement $41,600 DOE According to Pima County JTED Governing Board resolution, preference may be given to an instructor from an approved PC JTED program that meets or exceeds minimum standards. Duties/Responsibilities: Prepare curriculum and instruction for the Agriscience program. Coordinate work based learning activities for students enrolled in the program. Provide constant supervision of students enrolled in the Central Site Agriscience program. Have thorough knowledge of Pima County JTED policies that pertain to instruction, student discipline, etc. Be responsible for attendance, instruction, supervision, and grading of students, as well as maintain good communication with the central campus lead teacher and registrar. Serve as advisor of the FFA CTSO, involving students in activities at the local, state, and national levels. Maintain the physical facility including: equipment and supplies. Report to the Executive Director of JTED Program Development. Provide input to the JTED administration regarding calendar and attendance issues. Submit reports as requested, including grades, attendance, behavior, etc. Facilitate the Pima County JTED Agriculture Food and Natural Resources Committee. Minimum Requirements: Must possess or be able to obtain a Career & Technical Education: Agriculture teaching certificate (provisional or standard) and a Secondary Education: Biology teaching certificate (provisional or standard). Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education and three years teaching experience to include career and technical education in a certified secondary program or agricultural work experience is preferred. Thorough knowledge and application of secondary curriculum and instruction in career and technical education required. Experience as an advisor of an FFA chapter preferred.

POSITION: One (1) full-time Agriculture Science Teacher at Chino Valley High School for the 2009-2010 school year. This is a full time position with benefits. Teacher contracts for the 09-10 School Year are based on a four-day week beginning August 11, 2009. DESCRIPTION: Our Ag Science Teacher would instruct 9 through 12 grade students by teaching an agricultural science program that prepares students to successfully enter the business labor force and other general elements of the course of study common to all teachers. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess an Arizona Career and Technical Education Certificate with Agriculture K-12 as an approved area. Prior successful teaching experience with high school students is preferred. SALARY: Pay determined by the Certified Salary Schedule as established by the Governing Board.

Parker High School Parker High School, a 9-12 high school in western Arizona, is looking for a qualified Agriculture Teacher to fill the recent vacancy in the Ag Teacher position at PHS. The position is a full-time position with 30 extra days added to the contract at the daily rate of pay. Base salary is $31,290 starting with no experience or graduate credit. Beside teaching responsibilities, the Ag Teacher serves as the FFA Advisor and woks with the FFA Land Lab, a 45-acre facility off the PHS campus.
