Carl Olson, aka the ‘Bugman,’ is always ready to identify, explain, and laugh away your worries.

Carl has worked in the UAIC for 36 years during which time he has become very knowledgable about the local arthropod fauna, and he has published several popular books on the insects of the Sonoran Desert. He has also talked about bugs and the UAIC in his televised appearances on ‘The Desert Speaks’ and KGUN 9’s Tucson Morning Blend and in his many presentations at local nature organizations.

Drawing on his experience and the large number of specimens in the UAIC collection, Carl is usually able to identify even the most obscure bugs.
