Termites continue to be one of Arizona’s perennial urban pests. The request for termite-related information continues to escalate with the urbanization of the Southwestern U.S. The Baker Termite Laboratory purpose is to provide information to the public related to termites of Arizona. Our research and extension efforts focus on the biology, ecology and control of subterranean termites. Understanding the biology and ecology of termites enables us to develop control strategies for the public.

We are located on campus in the Marley Building, but collaborate with homeowners in Tucson and Phoenix while conducting field-applied research at the Santa Rita Experimental Range.

It is our intent to inform so that you have a greater understanding of the significance of the role termites play in our environment while having an appreciation of the complexities associated with termite control.
