International Entomopathogenic Nematodes and Insect Pathology Courses
I have designed these mobile applied courses to give participants from
different countries a thorough grounding in all aspects of practical Insect
Nematology and Insect Pathology. Emphasis is given to the identification
of major groups of Nematodes and other pathogens (Bacteria, Fungi, Protozoa
and Viruses) with potential for biological control of insect pests.
These courses are taught in either Spanish or in English
(upon request). There are approximately 30 hours of formally presented
lectures and 20 hours of laboratory instruction/demonstrations and a
field trip.
The course instructor is Dr. S. Patricia Stock, Assistant
Professor in the Department of Entomology, University of Arizona. A
native from Argentina, Dr. Stock has a strong interest and commitment
in promoting knowledge on Insect Nematology and Insect Pathology in
Latin America. She has over 15 years of expertise in Insect Nematology
with particular emphasis in Entomopathogenic Nematodes (EPN) with potential
for biocontrol.
