Research and Interests:

I am interested in the management of honey bees for crop pollination. Beekeepers have long used supplemental feeding in order to manipulate colony dynamics at various times of year. However how these various diets are affecting colony health and fitness is not well understood. For example, the influence of diet on the temporal polyethism of honey bees may have significant consequences for colony demographics and subsequently for long-term colony survival. My work focuses on elucidating physiological responses to supplemental feeding regimes.
