V Bar V Ranch Explorers Day

Aug 27 2011 - 9:45am - 3:00pm

The V Bar V Ranch Explorers' Day is designed to make learning about ranching and natural resource issues meaningful and fun. Activities will be led by ranch staff and field educators. This year's agenda includes a presentation on the use of pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) testing in cattle; a demonstration on plants with tree rings and tree-ring record-breakers; a slide show on range evaluation and management; chuck wagon cooking; displays; a native plant walk; petting zoo; ranch games; hay wagon rides; and music.

Registration costs $15 for students under 21 and $30 for adults, and includes all activities, lunch and round-trip bus transportation (leaving at 7:00 or 7:30 a.m., depending on location) from Prescott, Dewey, Sedona, Cottonwood or Camp Verde to Mahan Park.
