    Agriculture operations in the Southwestern United States use very intensive labor production processes and workers usually work outside under high temperatures. The long hours, high temperatures, and repetitive squatting, kneeling, carrying and twisting activities make these individuals vulnerable to WMSDs and heat stress. It has been documented that WMSDs or strains, aches, and pains especially in the back, shoulders, hands, and arms are probably the most common health problems for people who work in agriculture. Preventing or reducing these problems can reduce injury, absenteeism, and higher insurance premiums. This website provides resources that can be used to raise awareness of work and health related problems, for in-house education.

Communication in the workplace between supervisor and foreman and between foreman and worker has been rated among the top three labor concern in the in the category very important to extremely important by attendants of the Southwest Horticulture Trade Show in 2004 in Phoenix Arizona. Operational efficiency can be improved by better communication among the work force and managers. Resources are provided that help to better manage common problems in companies.
Efficient marketing is an important part of maximizing economic profitability. This website contains tools for producers to evaluate their risk and how to take steps to reduce their marketing risks.
