Sadly, I must report that my former Administrative Assistant, Mary Teinert, passed away on June 29 from a brain tumor. Mary had worked in Cooperative Extension for many years (back in the days before Internet, email and Facebook). Yesterday, I attended a celebration of her life held in Tucson at the Fountain of Life Lutheran Church at 11:00 am. Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Our condolences to her husband, Fred, and family.
A summary of the results of the 2009 Arizona Cooperative Extension Stakeholder Survey is now available . These results are similar to those presented at the recent All-Association meeting in Globe. This information is for internal use only and should not be published without consulting the Extension Administrative Team. If you would like more details regarding the survey results, contact Ed Martin (edmartin@cals.arizona.edu).
If you have not yet looked at the "beta release" of the new Cooperative Extension site, developed using the Drupal content management system, please do so. This is an internal release, for Extension personnel only. The site is not yet live, and is definitely still under development. However, the team would like to get wider comment from within our own group at this point. This is most likely to happen at the beginning or end of a work day, or on Friday afternoons. The development site address is ace.clover.cals.arizona.edu and will periodically be down for maintenance, as indicated by a "Site Maintenance" page. As there will be many questions, the team has created a FAQs page and suggest you look at it first (it is found on the bottom menu with the label "Development FAQs"). For further questions, use the "Contact Us" form on the new site, and choose "Website Feedback."
A Breeze conference call open to all interested faculty and staff concerning the RFP for Extension Program funding for 2009 will take place on Monday, July 13 at 1:30pm. During the call, Ed Martin and Linda Houtkooper will be available to discuss the RFP in more detail and answer questions from participants. To participate in the call, go to breeze.ltc.arizona.edu/azceddirector/. Before the call begins to run the "audio set up" to check your speakers and microphone. Proposals are due by 5:00pm July 31, 2009.
As of July 1, USPS has given the Pinal County Office a new zip code. It has changed from 85222-2726 to 85122-2726.
