An important reminder that as of next Monday, September 28, the new UAccess Employee system will replace Employee Link. In addition, the first pay period that must be reported online (via PeopleSoft) will be for September 21 through October 4. Everyone must report time whether you are an exception (PAW) or a positive time reporter.
Congratulations to Joyce Alves, Director and Associate Agent, Family & Consumer Sciences, Apache County, who was selected as First Place Western Region Winner in the National Extension Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) Grace Frysinger Fellowship (as a part of the 2009 NEAFCS Awards of Excellence Program). The presentation was made at the 2009 Annual Session & Exhibits last week in Birmingham, Alabama. The NEAFCS program provides recognition for members in areas of professional development, communications, program development and public relations. This year there were over 680 award applications, so being selected as a regional or national winner is a very impressive accomplishment.
We want to thank Mike Kilby for his continuing leadership with the Pecan Growers. He, Paul Brown, Pedro Andrade, Jim Walworth and Bill McCloskey provided good educational material at the Arizona Pecan Growers Association Annual Meeting at the Palo Verde Holiday Inn, Tucson.
This is the last call for nominations for the Extension Faculty of the Year Award and/or the Extensionist of the Year Award. We have a lot of good faculty (both on and off campus) as well as many people in our community that have given much to Extension. I encourage you to take the time to nominate some worthy people. The Faculty of the Year award will be presented at an appropriate event where the recipient will receive $1,000 and a plaque. The Extensionist of the Year award will be presented at an appropriate college-wide event to recognize residents of the State of Arizona who have contributed time and talent, through Cooperative Extension, to citizens of their community and state. Letters of nomination from faculty and staff in Extension should state the nature and extent of the service that the individual has performed and how it has benefited the community, the state and its citizens. Please submit your nominations to my office by September 30. Go to cals.arizona.edu/awards/extfacultyawd.html for Extension Faculty of the Year Award nomination form and criteria. If you have any questions, please contact my office (520.621.7205).

This training will enable you or your designee(s) to easily enter, change and update your program and event information content directly into a Web site right from your computers. There are general trainings and also county and 4-H trainings (a general training must be taken prior to a county or 4-H training).
