Both groundwater quality and quantity are essential to the urban and agricultural community of the southwest. This station will help illustrate, through hands-on activities, the principles involved in groundwater movement. A very simplistic model is used to illustrate groundwater movement and the effects of surface activities on supply and quality of subsurface water supplies. It can also show how water may become polluted and how best management practices may be used to prevent pollution. Please click on each lesson plan for further details including materials, activity procedures, assessments and references.
