This station will provide a perspective of an entire watershed helping students understand how watersheds are developed and the effects that man has on them. A "Watershed Table" will allow students to alter slope, vegetation, man-made structures and water-flow. "Running" the table will demonstrate how watersheds are developed or modified by changes to nature. This surface water model will be used to demonstrate how activities may affect the quality and quantity of water in a watershed. This station will depict land uses in a typical watershed including urban, industrial, agricultural and forest. Please click on each lesson plan for further details including materials, activity procedures, assessments, and references.
