Kim Brooke came to the University of Arizona following a successful career as a director of sales and marketing for a major hotel company in San Diego, California. Kim is the Program Coordinator Senior for the Southwest Retail Center for Education and Research. Kim coordinates and oversees all aspects of events, programs and activities. In addition to her assignment in the Center, Kim is also responsible for marketing and outreach for the School of Family and Consumer Sciences wherein she encourages networking of internal and external resources to gain positive exposure for the school. She is the recipient of the college’s Outstanding Staff Award. Kim consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence in everything she does.

A review of the Center’s newsletter The Retail Link is just one example of her commitment. The newsletter is excellent both in quality and content and provides an important opportunity for outreach with the retailing industry. Kim is also a key organizer of the Global Conference held every spring. She does an impressive job of coordinating the event, managing the logistics and planning all the marketing promotion of the event. Kim was the driving force behind the School brochure, which is used for important School fund-raising and recruitment. Kim worked with designers, photographers, faculty, students and staff on issues that ranged from visual presentation to payment writing and editing text. Kim not only accomplished each task successful, she did so with enthusiasm, personal initiative and great expertise.

Kim was also instrumental in the landscaping project to update the front of the FCA building. Kim worked with the FCA School Director, landscape architecture faculty and students, facilities management and purchasing to complete a multifaceted project that greatly enhanced the appearance of our building.
